Agreement to terms

By accessing devcrafthouse.co.za or using DevCraft House services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or engage us. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Paid projects and retainers are also governed by the proposal, statement of work, or written agreement we issue for that engagement. Where those documents conflict with this page, the signed agreement controls for that work.

Services

DevCraft House provides websites, progressive web apps, e-commerce, custom apps, SEO growth retainers, care plans, digital marketing support, and related consulting. We may update, pause, or discontinue aspects of the public website at any time. Published rates and prices on this site are indicative; final scope and commercial terms are confirmed in a quote or agreement.

Website use

Content on this site is for general information. You may not misuse the site (including attempting unauthorised access, scraping in a way that harms the service, or submitting abusive or unlawful content). We may remove or refuse submissions that appear spammy or malicious.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By using the site you acknowledge those policies.

Client responsibilities

When you engage us on a project or retainer, you are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information, content, and access needed to deliver the work
• Timely feedback and approvals so timelines can be met
• Paying fees as agreed in the proposal or invoice schedule
• Ensuring you have the rights to materials, brands, and data you supply to us

Payment terms

Payment terms are set in individual agreements. Projects typically require a deposit before work starts, with further amounts due on milestones or completion. Retainers are usually billed monthly in advance unless otherwise agreed. Late payment may delay or pause work. Prices are generally quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) unless stated otherwise.

Intellectual property

Upon full payment for custom work, you receive ownership of the deliverables created specifically for you, except for third-party components, open-source libraries, fonts, stock assets, and our pre-existing tools or frameworks, which remain under their respective licences or our ownership. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we may show non-confidential work in our portfolio and marketing.

Revisions and changes

Reasonable revisions within the agreed scope are included. Material changes, new features, or out-of-scope requests may change timeline and fees. Change requests should be confirmed in writing before we implement them.

Warranties and liability

We aim to deliver professional, high-quality work, but we do not warrant that services or the website will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by South African law, our liability for a paid engagement is limited to the fees paid for that specific service, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

Either party may end a project or retainer as set out in the relevant agreement (or with written notice if the agreement is silent). You remain responsible for fees for work completed up to termination. We may suspend or end services for non-payment or material breach.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms for site use. Active client agreements are changed only as those agreements allow.
